Enter the creative journey of one of Australia’s most exciting conceptual artists. Working in photography, neon, screen print, mixed media, installation and public art, Brook Andrew has produced visually dazzling work. Born in Sydney in 1970, he challenges historical and cultural conventions surrounding issues of identity, power, consumerism and history.

The Cell is an immersive installation, featuring a 13-metre-by-six-metre inflatable rectangle that requires the audience to don a costume, designed by Andrew, before crawling via a tunnel into a striped cell.

Newly commissioned by the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation, the inflatable cell draws on themes concerning cultural identity, colonial experience and consumerism. Immerse yourself in this thought-provoking installation.
