MORE ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
DesignByThem is a studio run by Sydney-based industrial designers, Nicholas Karlovasitis and Sarah Gibson. After winning a plethora of awards and scholarships independently, they joined forces in 2007 to launch DesignByThem. The duo’s ranges of furniture, lighting and accessories all follow eco-design principles and source products through local manufacturers. Their WebLight pendant, for example, is the result of an exploration into reusing plastic bags, transforming its 70 per cent recycled content into a work of intricacy and airiness.
