It’s essential for designers to be aware of space, light and material when creating a project, but they also need to factor in the environment. A design concept, for example, may work beautifully in the fast-paced inner city but may not work so efficiently in the suburbs’ more relaxed environment. With this in mind, students of graphic and interior design reveal their most well-executed work in the Urban/Suburban exhibition. Each work visually tells a story of the design and development of specific areas. During the panel discussion, a selection of interior and graphics designers, planners, architects and writers discuss case histories and design schemes that have helped change various structures throughout the years.

9.30am-6.30pm Monday-Friday, 2-14 August. Panel discussion at 6pm, Tuesday 10 August.
